Oldie Old Games Redux

Okay now THIS is more like it. I was mildly annoyed by the earlier quiz in which none of the games predated 1992, this one takes care of that. Playing number 36, Congo Bongo, on a cruddy Tandy TRS-80 computer at a Har Mar mall Radio Shack is one of my earliest computing memories (think early 1980's). Funny, since a quick web search indicates Congo Bongo was never ported to the TRS-80, but there's my memory for ya. So far I have correctly identified 9 games. I am particularly proud of #9, "Wizball", which I played nearly ceaselessly on a friend's Commodore 64 back in the day, and also #3, "River Raid", which was a total shot in the dark since I never played it (but a classic game nonetheless, as I understand it). Finally, if you were wondering what prompted my interest in online-quizzes lately, my Journalism homework is due sometime later today... Well, back to the quiz, I am going to try for 10.

Neat, via joystiq.com, this little quiz on old video games was pretty fun. I got 24 out of 40, with a couple retries and some lucky guesses. See if you can get more! Update: make that 25 out of 40! It took me this long to remember "Half-life," number 8. Also, I am sure number 38 is some variety of "Bomberman" but I can't get it to work right...

For the last 5 hours, I have been upgrading 15 ibm compatible workstations to Windows XP... This is a large number of upgrades in a small amount of time! Or at least I think it is. Now it is done and I can get out of here. On another note, my favorite film is Groundhog Day. I am not alone on this one, as apparently Buddhists like it, too.
